TN-Systems
Systems in which one point of the neutral conductor – usually near the power source – is directly earthed, and the bodies of the equipment are connected to this point via protective conductors.
Separate neutral conductor and protective conductor in the entire system.
Combined neutral and protective conductor (PEN conductor) in the entire system.
TT-System
Systems in which a point of the neutral conductor – usually near the power source – and the bodies of the equipment are connected to other earthing electrodes, i.e., to earthing electrodes independent of the earthing of the neutral conductor.
IT-System
Systems in which no point of the system is directly earthed – the bodies of the equipment are connected to a separate earthing system.
